Musical Game!

elphabacanfigureskate:

Pick 5 musicals that you love before reading the questions:

1) RENT

2) Wicked

3) Cats

4) Sweeney Todd

5) Phantom of the Opera

What was the first song you ever heard by 1?

Seasons of Love

What is your favorite song of 4?

The Ballad of Sweeney Todd (also A Little Priest and Epiphany)

What kind of impact has 1 left on your life?

I was absolutely obsessed with Rent in high school, a very frustrating and bad time for me. I certainly think it helped keep me sane all of that time. The message of the musical is so inspiring and beautiful and powerful.

What are your favorite lyrics of 5?

“Try to forgive, teach me to live. Give me the strength to try. No more memories, no more silent tears. No more gazing across the wasted years. Help me say goodbye.”

How many times have you seen 2 live?

Twice.

What is your favorite song by 2?

Defying Gravity, duh. But also No Good Deed and For Good and…can I just say all of them?

Is there any song by 3 that makes you sad?

Gus the Theatre Cat and probably Memory (all variations throughout).

What is your favorite song by 1?

Another Day or Will I (but really all of them)

When did you first get into 2?

Well one of my friends sang a song from the musical at our talent show and so I immediately went to listen to the soundtrack and then I read the book. And overall just became obsessed.

How did you get into 3?

Reading Rainbow had a behind the scenes segment on it once so that was it initially. And then it came to my city and that was the first time I saw it. It was also the first musical I ever saw live. Really my first exposure to stage musicals and so it’s always been pretty special to me. Plus one of my best friends was also obsessed with it.

What is your favorite song by 5?

Gah, stop making me pick favorites. The Overture, Music of the Night, titular song, Masquerade, Wandering Child, Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again

How many times have you seen 4 live?

None :(

What is a good memory concerning 5?

Hmm, I’m not sure really. I’ve never seen it live unfortunately but I’ve watched the film as well as filmed versions many times with friends and that was always nice.

Is there a song by 4 that makes you sad?

Not really actually.

What is your favorite song by 3?

It would be much easier to just pick my least favorites (Bustopher Jones, Pekes and the Pollicles, Growltiger’s Last Stand)

elphabaoftheopera:

A presentation of respect by elphabaoftheopera.

Every now and then I remember that Wicked is my favorite musical

Not that I ever really forget.

“And of the Witch? In the life of a Witch, there is no after, in the ever after of a Witch, there is no happily; in the story of a Witch, beyond the story of the life, there is - alas, or perhaps thank mercy - no telling. She was dead, dead and gone, and all that was left of her was the carapace of her reputation for malice.” - Wicked: the Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West

And I’m probably the only person on the internet that’s not talking about Arrested Development. I tried, I really did. But I guess I’ll try again.

Everyone loves sliding their hands on these marbles while waiting on line for Rock ‘N Roller Coaster

Me included. Last time I was at Disney I rode this (I kid you not) 5 times in a row (we got tons of fastpasses) and of course every single time, I rolled my hand over those marbles. Gah, I miss Disney World so much every single damn day.

So I finally saw Star Trek

I know I’m like 2 weeks late 1 week late. But as I said, I’m behind. Anyways, I loved it (alot better than the first one, imo). So that’s 1 down and 4 to go: Gatsby, Epic, Hangover, Fast and Furious.

Also, damnit I almost forgot that After Earth comes out Friday but I’ll be caught up by then.

Also I’m probably the only person who actually enjoys going to the movies by themselves.

More and more, everyday, I want to make my steampunk, post-apocalyptic Mad Hatter outfit to come to life. But…money.
